GREETINGS TO ALL:NZCFS-Logo

Well we are now two months into the new year already ! That is

hard to believe. Haven’t we had a wonderful summer.

OUR FIRST MEETING OF THE YEAR WILL BE:

DATE: Sunday 24 February 2013

TIME: 12:30 P.M.

VENUE: ROTORUA ARTS CENTRE (RAVE)

1240 Hinemaru Street

To start our year off we have invited Phil and Joce Andrews to be our Guest Speakers for our February meeting.

Phil was our representative on the October Prominent Persons Tour. His wife joined the group. Their first destination was Chang Chun in the Northern part of China where they attended a conference for the first part of their trip. I am sure it was an interesting experience for them and will be interesting to hear about their experience and view some of their many photos.

NATIONAL NEWS

The National body has established two new funds available for projects. One is the Rewi Alley Friendship and Exchange Fund. The project should commemorate the legacy of Rewi Alley. It should foster friendly exchanges of projects agreed by both parties which could relate to art, educational, youth and culture with the aim to promote China New Zealand friendship. I have mentioned this fund in previous newsletters. It was announced at last years conference and is supported by the Pacific China Friendship for Foreign Countries.

The second is the Simon Deng Fund. This fund is to foster youth, arts and culture exchanges. It is to promote friendship and understanding between China and New Zealand through exchanges of exhibitions, performances, and publications of all kinds for books, films and new media. This fund is supported by Simon Deng a Chinese National resident of Auckland.

The N.Z. China Friendship Society is extremely grateful for their support in recognition of their continual endeavour to foster friendly relationships with the Chinese people.

If you have an interest in the above please contact me and I can forward you the relevant documents. ([email protected])
