Hawke’s Bay Branch is working with our youth orchestra on a number of musical pieces including a special piece dedicated to Simon Deng Li, Honorary Patron of the NZ China Friendship Society Inc. This piece has been written by Xi Yao, a young traditional Gu-Zheng musician and member of the Traditional Chinese Music School based in Hamilton. The concert will be part of the NZCFS conference in Hawke’s Bay in May 2014. and is also open to the public so tell your friends. The concert entry will be by donation with all proceeds going to a fund that is to be used to send the students to Guilin, China.
