2011 marks the 25th anniversary of the Tauranga and Yantai China sister city relationship.
To celebrate, Tauranga is holding a New Zealand China week to recognise some of the well known Chinese cultural and recreation activities.
Monday 15 August- Opening Event
NZ China Week exhibition opening. Celebrate the opening of New Zealand China Week with drinks, nibbles and entertainment followed by a special screening of Mao’s Last Dancer at Rialto Cinema.
During The Week…
Tuesday : Kung Fu and Tai-Chi demonstration.
Wednesday: Table Tennis demonstration and challenge.
Thursday : Chinese Lantern making
Friday : Ma-Jong
Saturday: Tauranga Yantai 25 Year Sister City Celebration Concert
Cultural performances by the Yantai Children’s Palace Troupe and the Tauranga Intermediate School Kapa Haka Group.
