National Vice President North Island (Northern): George Andrews

George AndrewsGeorge Andrews first went to China in 2004 on a Prominent Person’s Tour. He succeeded Cecil Fowler as President of the Auckland branch in 2007. He was directly associated with introduction of both the recent funding stream totally $80,000 per annum which created new opportunities for NZCFS.

The RAFE Fund was announced at the 2012 Conference that George hosted, and the Simon Deng Fund which he chairs was created after he introduced Simon Deng to the society the same year. He has delivered successful projects for both funds including an acclaimed Media Tour in 2013, and introduction of two way writers exchanges with China at the Michael King Writers Centre, and the Shanghai Writers Centre.

George Andrews holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Victoria University, was one of the founders of the TV3 Network; and was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for service to television. 

George was elected as the NZCFS Vice President North Island (Northern) in 2013.
