On Saturday, 6 July 2019, 20 members of the Hamilton Branch enjoyed a tour through the Zealong Tea Estate on the outskirts of the Hamilton City.
The Tour started with a walk along the tea trail, shown by unique bronze statues showing the history of tea and a guide explaining how tea is picked and processed. In the Pavilion the group partook of tea tasting , enjoying the aromas and taste of five different teas.
The group left with much appreciation of Vincent Chen from Taiwan who took cuttings of a camellia tree back to Taiwan at the beginning of this century and bought back 130 which now number over 1.2 million.
