The following are brief details of upcoming tours:
- Explore China, the South-east; 10 – 30 October 2019
Was to have been this April, now scheduled for October. This great tour has been promoted through the branches, so you will know of it. However, if you want the details again, please contact either your branch secretary, or myself.
- ICE and TROPICS Tour: 20 February – 13 March 2020
One of the most common questions we receive at NZCFS Tours is “when are we going to go to the Ice and Light Festival in Harbin?” The answer is, February 2020 for 3-4 days!
We will go to Harbin to enjoy the ice sculptures, Russian architecture in Central Street and Stalin Park and the extensive Siberian Tiger Park.
Temperatures down to -20c, so need an extra pair of socks on.
For the survivors, fly south to Sanya, Hainan Island. Relax under the palms, even swim in the sea! Five full days, including tropical forest Parks, ethnic minority heritage villages, Buddhism and culture. Enjoy a health spa and gain an experience of traditional Chinese medicines, acupuncture and massage.
Then to Guilin for a long overdue visit to this city famed for its water and karst limestone beauty. Cruise down the Li River, relax in Yangshuo, go north for an overnight stay in the terraced rice hillside villages of Longji.
Then a final stop in Hong Kong to explore this often passed through city. Hong Kong and a day trip by ferry and new bridge to Macao can offer more than shopping and gambling. Just 3 nights here perhaps!

March- April 2020 China Highlights
Delivered 3 times to U3A groups, now available to NZCFS. A tour designed for those who have never been to China previously and may just go the once. Ideal for friends of NZCFS members who have wondered about the fascination their member friends have for China!. Highlights include Guilin and environs, Chengdu, Xi’an, Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou, together with an appreciation of Chinese history, culture and society. Details to follow.
September 2020 Explore China- the North East.
Last visited in 2014, an itinerary that will take in Shandong, Liaoning, Jilin provinces and Beijing (Harbin visited in February). Details to come.
