Blast from the Past: NZCFS Youth Club’s 80s Quiz Night Success in March

The NZCFS Youth Club event held on March 31 was the first of the year and proved to be a huge success. The event, which was a Quiz Night with a dress theme of the 80s, saw over 30 people in attendance, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm for the event. The vibrant atmosphere was evident as everyone came dressed in their best 80s outfits, including neon colours, big hair, and funky accessories, adding to the fun and excitement of the evening.

The Quiz Night proved to be a challenging yet enjoyable experience for all participants. The questions included a mix of general knowledge and trivia about New Zealand and China, some of which even left the local Kiwis scratching their heads. Life member George Andrews commented that the questions were witty and provided a good challenge for everyone. The event encouraged healthy competition among the participants, with teams battling it out to claim the top spot on the scoreboard.

Apart from the quiz, the event also provided an opportunity for participants to make new friends and strengthen existing connections. The relaxed and friendly environment fostered interactions and conversations, allowing people to bond over their shared interests in China, New Zealand and their cultures. Auckland Branch President Mike Dawson added to the excitement of the evening by winning the best-dressed award with his pink jacket and floral shirt, adding a touch of nostalgia to the 80s theme.

Overall, the Youth Club event in March was a resounding success, bringing together a diverse group of people who enjoyed a fun-filled evening of quiz and camaraderie.
