The tour visited Guilin,Yangshuo, Zhangjiajie National Park, Fenghuang, Huangshan, and Shanghai. Being a photographers tour they certainly saw some of China’s outstanding scenery as well as visiting many minority rural villages. They will share many photos along with their experiences and first impressions of China.

Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy a wonderful afternoon with a friendly group of people. Remember we start off with our shared lunch and the presentation will follow after.

We wish them well on this tour and will be looking forward to hearing about their experiences in the future.

If you have not paid this years subscription it would be appreciated if you could do this soon if you still wish to continue supporting the society. I will be sending out friendly reminders to those who have outstanding subs in the future.

Do you ever check out the Society’s website to see what other branches are doing as well as what projects in China the Society is supporting ? Check it out http://nzchinasociety.org.nz/ Information regarding next years tour Exploring China – South East with a draft itinerary has been posted on their website. It looks to be very interesting. They are taking expressions of interest now.

Also the Rotorua Chinese Association is planning a Moon-Cake Festival celebrating this important time in their culture. The tentative plan is to hold it at the Soundshell on Saturday 29 September from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. There will be cultural performances and moon-cake tasting. So mark this on your calendar. More information will be available next month.
