"Inside Red China"
“Inside Red China”

We will be showing the archival film “Inside Red China” first filmed by Rudall and Ramai Hayward. In 1957

N.Z. China Society filmmakers, the Haywards were among the first westerners to travel widely in the People’s Republic. This documentary explores the new China soon after liberation. The remastered film in digital format by the China Friendship Society includes additional features to the original film. It is a 45 minute duration. We will start with our usual shared lunch so bring something to share and anyone who might be interested in seeing this historic film of early China. I think you will be surprised at what they were allowed to film during this period. Everyone is welcome.
