This month is our AGM Our meeting will start with the usual shared lunch followed with our AGM and hopefully Jan Burbidge will tell us a little bit about May Kingsford. She hopes others might have something to contribute about May. Some yearsa ago May left a legacy to the Rotorua Branch to ensure that it continue.
Also we will have a discussion regarding the survey which was sent out. Hopefully you filled it out either on line or returned it by snail mail. There will be a discussion about the results of this survey at the up and coming conference. So you will have an opportunity to make additional comments at our AGM which can be conveyed further at the conference discussion.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Fred was unable to make our March meeting so he has been rescheduled for our May meeting. I would like to thank John Chang Wong for stepping in at short notice and telling us about the Chinese Philosopher, Confucius.
We are hoping to have some of the Chinese Language assistants speak to us in June and possibly have a Chinese lunch at a restaurant in July.
This year there will be a youth conference in September so Youth will be the theme for this years Prominent Persons and Leaders Tour. We are still looking for a young person to nominate for this tour. Please let us know if you know of a young person who might be interested in going to China, someone in their early 30’s or younger. Those selected will pay for their own airfares, insurance and visa but all expenses in China will be covered by the hosts.
The Annual Conference will be held in Hawkes Bay, 23-25 May. Early Registration is $120. per person. The conference banquet is an additional $45.
